MPE meets with Chancellor Rachel Reeves and is shortlisted for Innovation
It has been a busy week at MPE, two good news stories came up, being shortlisted for MAKE UK’s Innovation Award and Manufacturing Director, Marcus Wright, meeting the Chancellor Rachel Reeves.
On Wednesday, it was announced that MPE had been shortlisted for MAKE UK’s North West Regional Awards for Innovation. We will find out how successful we have been on the 24th October at Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort, Burnley. To attend the event you can book tickets here. MPE has been shortlisted for its innovative approach to the manufacturing space and the implementation of new practices and equipment to increase throughput.
On Thursday, what was originally to be an online meeting, Manufacturing Director, Marcus Wright, made a dash to the Prince’s Food offices in the Liver Buildings to meet with Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves. This was the first visit to the region for the Chancellor and was an opportunity for North West manufacturing companies to be recognised for their vital contribution towards making the economy grow.

Marcus sat in on a roundtable meeting with three other companies and discussed various topics including export, growth and talent acquisition.

Marcus said “This has been a unique opportunity to discuss UK manufacturing and the importance of our company being situated in Knowsley to aid employment opportunities for the advanced engineering sector, for this we thank the Chancellor for her time.”
